Jericho, December the 19th, 2019 – Kick-off for the II Annual Staff Conference of the Palestinian Public Prosecution Office, organized and carried out thanks to the budget support component of “SI-GEWE – Support to the Institutionalization of Gender Mainstreaming and Women’s Empowerment in the NPA 2017-2022“, funded by AICS Jerusalem. The Prime Minister Mohammad Ishteiah participated in the opening ceremony of the Conference, that will be attended by executives and administrative officials of the Public Prosecution Office.
During the event, the fundamental steps of the path of reform of the rule of law in Palestine will be addressed; particular attention will be given to the strategic planning systems and the evaluation of the performance of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, to the coordination and cooperation system between the Attorney General and the Palestinian Supreme Court, to the prevention of corruption and to the procedures developed and applied with support of the Italian Cooperation within the departments of Juvenile Prosecution and Family Protection of the Office of the Public Prosecutor.
The Representative of AICS Jerusalem, Ms. Cristina Natoli, had the opportunity in her speech to highlight how “the Public Prosecutor’s Office is a reliable partner, whose role, thanks to the excellent work done by the administrative staff, is becoming ever more essential for the promotion of human rights and gender equality in Palestinian society“.
