Jerusalem, January the 10th, 2020 – The visit to Palestine of the Representatives of the Higher Institute of Health (National Blood Center) and the Hemophilia Center of the Hospital of Perugia has just terminated. The mission has been organized in the frameworkof the initiative “HAEMO-PAL – Enhancement of the Clinical Centres for the Diagnosis and Care of congenital haemorrhagic diseases and hemoglobinopathies in Palestine” in order for the Italian partners to meet the Palestinian ones, and Minister of Health Dr. May Alkaila.
The project aims at providing training opportunity for Palestinian professionals, developing and implementing digitized registry and medical record system, protocols and guidelines, supporting the laboratories’ upgrade, qualifying transfusion centers to make them self-sufficient in the production of blood products.
Furthermore, the Italian regions Emilia-Romagna, Marche, Tuscany and Umbria will donate coagulation factors concentrates derived from the processing of Italian plasma, for a commercial value of about 10.5 MLN EURO, in addition to the AICS grant of 1.8 MLN EURO.
The activities will be starting during the first half of 2020 and implemented for 36 months.
