Ramallah October 22nd, 2019 – Two new initiatives have been approved with a signature ceremony between الموقع الرسمي لوزارة العمل الفلسطينية – رام الله the Ministry of Labor and Palestinian Banking Corporation/المؤسسة المصرفية الفلسطينية, within the framework of the Program #STARTUP funded by Agenzia Italiana per la Cooperazione allo Sviluppo.
The first credit line (900,000 USD) will deliver loans at Islamic conditions through Palestinian microfinance institutions while the second project regards a competition for young entrepreneurs to provide loans with no interests, including technical assistance and business advisory services.
Thanks to the strong partnership with PFESP-The Palestinian Fund for Employment/الصندوق الفلسطيني للتشغيل and Palestinian microfinance institutions, hundreds of small loans have been disbursed in the last months allowing for significative improvements for small and micro businesses run by marginalized women and men in the West Bank and Gaza under the umbrella of START-UP.
