Bethlehem, 30 November 2018 – It launched two public meetings to address objectives and activities in the frame of NUR – New Urban Resources, implemented by the Municipality of Turin in collaboration with CSO VIS (Volontariato Internazionale per lo Sviluppo) and other local and Italian partners, through the support of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation.
The projects itself aims at promoting the diffusion of renewable energy in the Bethlehem area, through the installation of solar panels and the provision of technical assistance to enhance vocational training, start-ups and local governance.
Among the speakers of the press release, the mayor of Bethlehem Anton Salman, the Director of AICS Jerusalem office Cristina Natoli and Roberto Montà, President of Co.Co.Pa (Coordinamento Comuni per la Pace). Later in Furno Hall of Bethlehem University, the technical partners of the project gave a deep understanding of the contents, demonstrating that competencies exchange lie at the hear of the initiative. Among them, Polytechnic of Turin, University of Bethlehem and Salesian Technical School of Bethlehem, (Higher Institute on Territorial Systems for Innovation (SITI), ENAIP Piemonte and Al Engineering Group.
A further event is planned to be next year when project partners will light up with clean energy the Christmas Tree in Manger Square in Bethlehem.
