Jericho “City of the Moon” – June 3rd, 2021 – MUSTAQBALUNA “Our Future” a project funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) in Jerusalem and implemented by the Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) in Jericho and in partnership with AVSI foundation, the project organized a “tasting campaign” and a high quality product’s promotion and selling made by a group of Palestinian women to increase the job opportunities for the most vulnerable women in Palestine.
The products included some traditional Palestinian pastries such as Za’atar (Thymes), cheese, meat and some organic products such as honey, dates and tabbouleh (famous middle eastern salad).
MUSTAQBALUNA “Our Future” project
The project targets 12 charitable and cooperative societies and women’s groups who are aiming to develop their entrepreneurial activity, and they worked closely with representatives of various associations to develop their projects and to manage their products in terms of manufacturing quality, packaging, promotion and marketing.
Jericho “city of the moon” is considered one of the important agricultural cities in the West Bank, as it has been adopted as an agricultural development cluster, as it enjoys large agricultural lands and a temperate climate in summer and winter as well as its unique and high-quality dates.
The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation in Jerusalem, Gender Lead Donor and AVSI foundation participated in this activity, in addition to the representatives of the Women’s Christian Association in Jerusalem and Jericho, who showed their gratitude and thanks to all the workers and supporters of this project, that helps to support women and enhance their capabilities to be able to establish unique projects in the future.
