6 new development projects are starting in these weeks, funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation and implemented by Italian local Authorities within Palestinian partners. It is a new process for funding projects, coming after the publication of the specific tender in 2017 with the intention of re-launch the well-known Italian decentralized cooperation.
The Municipalities of Comacchio, Torino, Pavia, Prato, Gubbio and Umbria Region will be leaders for the next three years of projects aiming at developing the touristic sector, treating waste water for agricultural and industrial purposes, promoting renewable energies for public use and enhancing the beekeeping and aromatic plants value chains. Four of these initiatives will be implemented in Bethlehem and one in particular (Municipality of Gubbio) will be devoted to provide vocational trainings for the construction sector also in Jordan.
AICS is funding among the 75 and 80 % of the total amount of the projects, for an overall commitment by 6 millions of euro.
