AICS Jerusalem Office – December 6, 2024 – The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS Jerusalem) will finance the project “Enhancing Market-Driven Innovative and Sustainable Investments in the Agri-Food Sector in the West Bank” with 5 million euros.
This funding comes through a three-year agreement signed by the Consulate General of Italy in Jerusalem, the FAO Office in Jerusalem, and AICS, in partnership with the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture.
The project aims to support small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in the Palestinian agri-food sector, which are vital for household incomes and food security. It will promote economic growth, employment, and decent work, focusing on financing, technical assistance, and improving working conditions, particularly for women and youth. The project also includes support for a Central Agricultural Wholesale Market, enhancing governance, management, and infrastructure to improve access to markets for Palestinian agri-food products.
