Tamoun (Tubas), July 2026 – A field visit was held in Tamoun, Tubas Governorate, as part of the COOPER-IDEA project, implemented by WeWorld and funded by the Italian Cooperation through the “Be the Impact” programme.
The visit brought together staff from AICS Jerusalem, WeWorld, the Economic and Social Development Center (ESDC), and representatives from seven agricultural cooperatives supported by the project.
Hosted by the Tubas Agricultural Cooperative, the event focused on peer learning and the exchange of experiences among participating cooperatives. Participants toured the cooperative’s greenhouses and explored sustainable agricultural practices, including organic fertilization techniques, compost production, natural liquid fertilizers, and innovative methods to improve agricultural productivity.
The activity is part of the COOPER-IDEA project’s efforts to strengthen the Palestinian cooperative sector. The project supports 30 agricultural and handicraft cooperatives across the West Bank through training, technical assistance, and business development support, with a particular focus on increasing the participation of women and young people.
By fostering collaboration among cooperatives and encouraging the exchange of best practices, the project contributes to strengthening technical capacities and enhancing the ability of the Palestinian cooperative sector to create opportunities for local economic development.
