The Palestinian crisis is one of the most severe humanitarian emergencies of our time, worsened by persistent stagnation and the lack of concrete prospects for peace.

Gaza has been severely affected in the aftermath of the Hamas attacks of October 7, 2023. The war has caused thousands of casualties, the destruction of homes and essential infrastructure, and a serious shortage of food and protection for civilians. The Italian Cooperation, which has long been active in the region, has seen much of its work undermined by the heavy bombings, making assistance in the Gaza Strip nearly impossible.

The West Bank is facing an equally critical situation: the expansion of Israeli settlements and the establishment of new illegal outposts have worsened the humanitarian crisis. Palestinians are being forced to leave their land, while movement restrictions and rising unemployment—particularly in the agricultural sector—have further weakened the Palestinian economy. In addition, the complete suspension of tax revenue transfers to the Palestinian National Authority has put public services at serious risk.
