Biography
Mirko Tricoli, born in 1982, began working on development policies and programs immediately after completing his studies in international cooperation. He started with decentralized cooperation for the Municipality of Siena in Palestine and promoting dialogue between Israeli and Palestinian municipalities.
Between 2008 and 2012, he coordinated development projects on behalf of the Italian NGOs Vis and Cospe in Sudan and Palestine. In 2011, he managed an emergency project for Terre des Hommes in the Gaza Strip.
In Italy, between 2012 and 2015, he was responsible for NGO programs in the Middle East and Asia at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. In 2015, he collaborated with ActionAid Italy, coordinating an advocacy project on the reform of Italy’s international cooperation law and the role of the private sector in development cooperation.
Engaged in migration and development programs for the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), he has also worked on private sector engagement and economic development.
Since 2019, he has been an adjunct professor at UNINT, teaching the Project Management module within the Negotiation and Project Management course.
Mirko Tricoli has been the Head of the AICS Office in Jerusalem since September 2024.
