As the lead donor in the health sector in Palestine, the Italian Cooperation was requested to support the process of developing a national strategy for the implementation of palliative care.
Within this framework, the Global Health Center, accompanied by AICS health expert, held a series of meetings with the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Juzoor Association, the Palestinian American Medical Association (PAMA), the World Health Organization (WHO), Augusta Victoria Hospital, and Beit Jala Hospital.
The initiative enabled direct engagement with healthcare professionals, local organizations, and international partners, aiming to gather key insights to better understand the main challenges and opportunities related to the development of palliative care in the Palestinian context.
The forthcoming national strategy will build on local experiences and international best practices, with the objective of promoting an integrated and sustainable approach.
