19 May 2026 – The launch event of the project “Her Narrative: Young Women Lead in Palestinian Media and Creative Industries” took place at TechnoPark in Birzeit. The project is designed and implemented by the Filastiniyat Association in partnership with Al-Nasher and the Arab American University.

The initiative is part of the project “Promoting Gender-Responsive Actions in Palestine – Integrating Women in the Culture and Creativity Industry”, promoted by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS Jerusalem) and funded by the European Union. It represents an important step toward strengthening the role of young Palestinian women within the Cultural and Creative Industries.

The project aims to promote the economic and professional empowerment of young Palestinian women through structured collaboration between universities, the private sector, and civil society. It seeks to create sustainable career pathways and increase employment opportunities within the cultural and creative sectors.

Over the 18 months of implementation, the project will engage at least 500 female graduates from 18 Palestinian universities, who will participate in capacity-building programs designed to bridge the gap between academic education and the labor market.

The initiative will also support 16 entrepreneurial projects in the Cultural and Creative Industries sector through grants totaling €70,000, benefiting 32 young female graduates. In parallel, around 62 private companies specialized in the CCI sector will host internship programs lasting at least six months, providing concrete opportunities for training and professional integration. Each intern will receive a €500 contribution from the program, complemented by an additional average support of €100 provided by the host companies.

The 18 partner universities will play a central role in identifying beneficiaries and implementing the project’s various activities, contributing to the development of a multi-stakeholder ecosystem aimed at increasing women’s inclusion in the Palestinian cultural and creative sector.
