29 April 2026 – Huwwara Municipality hosted the presentation event of the results of the Beyond Health project, an initiative funded by the Italian Cooperation and implemented by AVSI, in partnership with Medical Aid for Palestinians, Bethlehem Arab Society for Rehabilitation, and the Art to Heart Foundation.
The project operates in the Nablus Governorate, in the areas of Beita and Huwwara, where the current context continues to affect access to essential services, particularly health and social services. In these areas, marked by frequent movement restrictions and a situation of high vulnerability, the intervention aims to strengthen the response to the population’s most urgent needs.
Beyond Health focuses on access to primary healthcare services, psychosocial support, rehabilitation pathways, and social protection. The project targets children exposed to trauma and repeated emergencies, persons with disabilities, injured individuals, mothers of children with disabilities, healthcare workers, and community volunteers.
During the event, an exhibition showcased artworks created by children and mothers involved in psychosocial support activities. Through drawings and handmade creations, the exhibition highlighted the value of initiatives dedicated to emotional well-being and personal expression.
Participants also attended the screening of three short testimonial videos produced during the project activities, illustrating the concrete impact of the initiative on the lives of beneficiaries. Particularly meaningful was the discussion with several mothers present at the event, who shared their experiences and the importance of the support received.
On the occasion of the event, the Ibn Sina Clinic in Huwwara was also visited. The clinic is among the facilities that benefited from equipment provided through the project, reaffirming the commitment to strengthening the response capacity of local healthcare services.
