The AICS office in Jerusalem participated in Macfrut 2025, the leading international trade fair for the fruit and vegetable sector, held from May 6 to 8 at the Rimini Expo Centre.
The event brought together ten other AICS foreign offices – including Tunisia, Egypt, Senegal, Mozambique, Ethiopia, Uganda, Lebanon, Albania, Syria, Burkina Faso, Cuba, and Vietnam – with the aim of fostering dialogue between institutions, businesses, and local communities, while highlighting the agri-food excellence of partner countries and projects supported by Italian Cooperation.
The Palestinian delegation, led by Paul Gasparini, head of rural development for AICS Jerusalem, included four agricultural professionals from Battir and Husan, two villages located in the Bethlehem Governorate. The participants represented three agricultural cooperatives operating in the area, two of which are women-led.
During the fair, the delegation took part in various tasting sessions, thematic discussions, and presentations of traditional products. At the AICS stand, special attention was given to stories of sustainable agricultural cooperation, including the Palestinian experience, where Italian Cooperation has played a key role in strengthening fruit and vegetable markets.
