The launch meeting of the EU-Gaza Private Sector Dialogue Platform took place at the European Union Delegation in Cairo, bringing together representatives of the European Union, several EU Member States, the Palestinian private sector, international financial institutions, and international organizations engaged in recovery and reconstruction efforts.

AICS Jerusalem also participated in the meeting as part of its coordination with Team Europe and its support for initiatives aimed at fostering the future economic recovery of the Gaza Strip.

The Platform is part of the European Union’s commitment to supporting the transition from humanitarian response to recovery and reconstruction through a structured dialogue with the Palestinian private sector.

During the meeting, participants highlighted the crucial role of local businesses in driving economic recovery, creating employment opportunities, and revitalizing productive activities.

Key discussions focused on challenges related to access to finance, infrastructure reconstruction, and the restoration of essential services, as well as the constraints affecting major productive sectors.

The initiative foresees the establishment of a dialogue forum and sectoral working groups to strengthen coordination among public, private, and financial stakeholders and to help define priorities for the recovery phase.

The Platform also represents an important step in the lead-up to the upcoming Palestine Donor Group (PDG) meeting, scheduled to take place in Brussels on 13 July.
